With SodaStream you can carbonate water at home and control the level of fizz and flavour you want.
Gas cylinders are available in two sizes; the 30L cylinder will make approximately 30 litres of lightly sparkling water, and the 60L cylinder will make approximately 60 litres. However, we are phasing out our 30L cylinders, for more information on this please visit out 30L gas cylinder phase out page.
Once your cylinder is empty, you can take it back to any listed SodaStream retailer and they will swap it for a full one charging you only for the gas.
SodaStream is the cost-effective, health conscious and environmentally friendly way of having sparkling drinks on hand anytime.
TIP: Keeping a spare cylinder on hand will ensure you never run out of gas. You can use your backup bottle while your waiting for your next trip to the store.
Our 60L cylinders will on average make up to 60 liters of sparkling water, but there is no one size fits all answer to this question. And honestly that's what makes SodaStream so unique. How frequently you need to replace your carbonating cylinder varies according to the level of carbonation you use.
If you find yourself replacing gas more than you'd like to, try reducing the number of times you push the carbonating button per use, and use firm 1-2 second pushes each time.
It's easy!
We know it can be hard to leave your sparkling water maker at home, but SodaStream advises against carrying carbonators on an airplane. Check with your airline, but most have restrictions in place that prohibit compressed gas carbonators in carry-on items as well as in checked baggage.
Absolutely, without a doubt, yes. SodaStream carbonating cylinders are manufactured to exacting safety specifications to protect consumers. Carbonating cylinders are safe at virtually any altitude (our customers in the Swiss Alps can attest to that!) and are specially equipped with a safety valve that will harmlessly release the gas in the unlikely event that the pressure within the carbonating cylinder rises above threshold levels. Did you know that SodaStream original carbonating cylinders are also quality tested 3 times when refilled?
Your carbonating cylinder is a 100% safe addition to your home but we think it's important to highlight some basic safety guidelines and extreme use scenarios that you should avoid. Safety first! Always store your carbonating cylinder in a cool and dry environment. The carbonating cylinder must not be exposed to sources of heat (such as prolonged travel in the trunk of a car) or placed right next to a heat source such as an oven, stove or fireplace. Every carbonating cylinder is fitted with a unique safety valve which will safely release the gas in the unlikely event the pressure in the carbonating cylinder rises.
SodaStream gas cylinders may be different in different countries.
You should always purchase your machine in the intended country of use.
